Question of the Moment:
As the issue of watermarking continues, it occurs to me that I never mentioned that I was thinking more of “Hosted at nvhentai.com” in the upper left corner of the image, small and unobtrusive, and without actually claiming ownership of the images. Figured I’d get your guys thoughts on this idea.

I am still for it, ^.^ (.) How many good sites close down due to their inability, or, their lack of advertisement. Such as Stage6. One of the best sites to exist video wise, shut down due to lack of advertisement. (The lack of ads caused financial issues for them, but still, the ads were the main issue for them.) No, ads from other sites, and advertising your own site is different, but in the same bowl, I see that it is best to have your “Hosted by NVHENTAI” on the images.

I find it hard to take a side on this issue; in other words: the law is black and white, but the interpretation of such is just shades of gray.
I fully support the site and being able to advertise, but you don’t want it to seem as though you’re claiming ownership of the content you so graciously host for us. However, Xion said it best; it would be a shame to see this place disappear the way of Stage6 (which introduced me to Shakugan no Shana, and I’m so grateful for that! I hated to see it go. :’( ), so despite the gray area you’d be putting yourself into, I would say I’m all for watermarking; I don’t want to see another fantastic site like this go away.
Besides, if an artist has a problem with it, it’s easy enough to contact you; simple as that.
The “Hosted @” watermarking idea sounds great. It’s a nice compromise between not claiming ownership and still advertising the site. I say go for it.
I’m still completely against it too.
Unless you kept the public images at the same amount and only watermarked those few. I don’t want any watermarks on my member images. I still think that if the entire gallery were made public (even if watermarked) not enough people would care enough to get Sexkeys.
The members section is never, and will never be watermarked. Figured I’d clear that up right away. For now I’m testing out watermarks on the public section. Why? Well because the site is having traffic issues as all kinds of web sites I’m linked with go under. My hope is that images with the site’s name on them will trickle out onto various web sties, and help make this place as well known as say AD. Of course I’m working hard at finding new links as well as that, no reason to put all my eggs in one basket.

Yes I want the site to make it too, and I do like niddy, it is nothing personal against him, I am sure he knows that. I just find watermarking of others images wrong no matter what it says. And a problem I see is that, if an artist has a problem with it, which they should, it isn’t as simple as contacting niddy and having him remove it from the gallery, or remove the watermark, it’s already out there, damage done.
Hay niddy which galleries in the public have the watermark?
All of hentai image galleries in the public section have the watermark. I’m also debating on the doujinshi gallery though I admit it takes ages for the gallery to apply it. So I might hold off on that one for now. I’d like to see the results a bit before I decide. Though I admit that I’m taking various watermarked images and seeding them around the hentai community. In fact it would be a great help if anybody else would like to join in.
I’m gonna say no to the water marking, simply because I know a few of the artists, and I know they wouldn’t want their stuff watermarked by anyone but them.
