This vote was extraordinary close, and I was actually holding off doing an update last night until the draw was broken. But the League’s Adventure Time barely manages to nudge out the Collective Union’s Ai Yori Aoshi doujinshi, with the Mercenaries Tentacle Doujinshi right behind (though potentially ahead if they all voted for one thing). A bit of confusion in the ranks sees them in third for this vote. But hey, the newest vote begins right now, and thus a new chance to take the voting gold. Happy voting!
Oh and before I forget, you might notice that technically Adventure Time doujinshi won, yet I marked Hentai/Doujinshi… This is because I’m not 100% certain there are many if any Adventure Time doujinshi out there, but I know for a fact there is an army of hentai for it (since I collected it in advance). I will wander off and see what doujinshi I find, though the update may end up being a conglomeration of the two.

C: Hey just one suggestion i think would make this site even better is if you made the gallery pic for the update into a link to that gallery so its easier to navigate to the update just a suggestion.
A: I’ve been asked to do that before, and I don’t see why it can’t be done.
C: Ok, I have a good question; I can legitimately prove that Rein and I are two different people, but we use the same laptop. She’s never really on the site, but likes to look over my shoulder at the site when i check votes just in case she sees something she likes then she votes. That’s why she usually votes after I do. Would that get us counted as cheating? If so I’m fully willing to prove it to Niddy in private just so that she can keep on voting as infrequently as she does
A: If it’s from the same computer, then yes. Unfortunately I have no way of telling if it’s one, two, or even fifty people using one computer. You can however send me a PM on the forum and we can discuss it.

C: Hmmmm……Some of the webcomics I read have polls on them that use either a cookie or a url tracker to prevent double, or more, voting. If you asked for suggestions of things to add to the poll in the comments, and then used a url tracker poll you could just have a quick and simple poll area set up that (hopefully) would prevent cheating. You’d need for the public and members polls to read as separate code so that the members could get their second vote, but that would probably be the hardest part of it. Honestly, I don’t know how well it would work, but for those individuals who don’t have a private and personal computer (such as needing to use a sibling’s/roommates computer who also visits the site) it would at least enable them to vote again once they do have a computer of their own to use again, while your proposed method would permanently screw over the sibling/roommate. Of course, if they use a router then it becomes a moot point.
A: An interesting idea, though the biggest problem with polling software is that I have to set the choices in advance, yet for voting I allow people to write in votes. Unfortunately I haven’t found one that lets people add choices yet. Also part of what forcing people to vote in the comments does, is that it makes people more likely to chat. I admit I’d miss that if people suddenly stopped due to a new voting method.

Voting is a privilege, not a right. The penalty might seem harsh, but realistically it makes counting votes take a whole lot longer, and while I am on the lookout for a better means to verify votes… Having people be able to chat while they vote is so much better than some obscure/complex voting system. So I would prefer to leave it as it is, unless something much better comes along.
